Dr. R. K. Sahu has been actively advising VNR since his retirement from IGKVV in 2005.
Dr. R.K.Sahu did his B.Sc. (Agriculture) in 1965 and M.Sc. (Agriculture-HONS). He was awarded Ph.D. (Agriculture-HONS) where his thesis title was “Inheritance and Allelic Relationship of Bacterial Blight Resistance in Rice?. Dr.Sahu had fellowship with ICAR and IRRI Philippines. He had made many foreign visits during his career to prestigious institutes like IRRI Philippines, NUE, RLRC Thailand to do collaborative Research, impart trainings, attend workshops and in capacity of visiting scientist.
Dr. Sahu has started his career as Research scientist from JNKVV Rewa and retired as Professor & Principle scientist in Plant Breeding and Genetics. Dr. Sahu’s publications include a book on “RAINFED RICE, IRRI, IFAD, ICAR, IIRR?. His current book titled “AROMATIC RICES of MP? is currently under publication. Dr. Sahu has more than 94 research papers to his credit. His Achievements includes releasing 19 varieties of RICE and handled 7 ICAR and IRRI projects. His PhD student Rajeev Shrivastava got Jawaharlal Neheru award for best thesis in 2001.
