Farmer of Raipur district, Shri Narayan Bhai Chawda received ASPEE – L.M. Patel Farmer Award 1997. Shri Chawda received the award during the Silver Jubilee Celebration of ASPEE Equipment Pvt. Ltd. held in ASPEE area, Malad, Mumbai. The award was given away by the Chief –guest of the function, Swami Sachhidanandji. Shri C.S. Dharmadhikari, the ex-Chief-Megistrate was also present at this occasion. At the outset, the Managing Director of American Spring welcomed the guests. Shri Kiran Patel has given the memento to the guests during this function.

Jubilee Pump Launching : The Director of ASPEE Shri Rajeev Patel has presented the Jubilee Pump for marketing at this occasion. ASPEE – L.M. Patel Annual Farmer Award is given to farmer for the utmost contribution in the field of agriculture. A cash prize of one-lakh and a memento trophy and certificate of appreciation is given to farmer who is recognized as the best for the work done by him in the field of agriculture. The farmer who successfully grows crops including horticultural crops, who uses modern inputs and adopt improved methods of agriculture effectively by using soil, water, credit, labour effectively are eligible to participate and a committee of the well-known agricultural scientists and reputed selected social workers select the farmer for this award.

Krishak Award for 1997 : For this award, there were 52 entries out of which 10 were selected for evaluation in detail by the committee. On the recommendation of committee lastly Shri Chawda got selected. The members of the committee were Shri S.B. Kadrekar (Coordinator) Ex-VC, Kokan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, Dr. J.S. Kanwar, Ex-Dy. Director, ICRISAT, Hyderabad, Dr. J.P.S. Yadav, Ex-Chairman ASRB, ICAR and Dr. Dwarikanath, Ex-VC, Agricultural Science University, Bangalore.
