| Krishi Pandit Narayan Chawda Rewarded Like the Agricultural Scientist |

Fruit and Vegetable grower farmer, Shri Narayanbhai Chawda has been rewarded not only once but many times since 1976-77 like agricultural scientist. He was born in 1941 in Gomchi village, Raipur. Shri Chawda got first award in All India Paddy Crop Competition and awarded the degree of “Krishi Pandit??? during 1976-77. During 1977 he was invited for flag hoisting in National Agricultural Fair and honoured by Government of India. |

In 1978, he has been recognized as the best vegetable grower of the country and was awarded with the Gold Medal in the function organized by the Vegetable Research Centre at Varanasi, U.P. Now only this, during 1989 he also got an appropriate award and certificate in All India Mango Exhibition. Prior to it, in 1976 Shri Chawda has been honoured with a Championship Trophy in fruit and vegetable exhibition and given honour. |

In fact, the activities of growing fruits and vegetables started by Shri Chawda in Chhattisgarh area since 1976 when he also started growing potato and planned to get three truck-load of potato from Punjab. But his success hampered when one truck-load of potato got damaged before reaching the destination. As an alternative, he himself constructed the cold-storage at his farm and proceeded further to fulfil his objectives. In Chhattisgarh area this was unique and new experiment where he adopted the Seed-Plant Technique and pave the way for progress. |
