Quality, Quantity & Timeliness

For VNR Seed Production – Technology is always at the forefront

A seed is a promise of great times ahead

In this context seed production is as adventurous as a safari. Many uncertainties are overcome to bring out the promise a seed is.

We at VNR create epic forays into this fascinating art and science combination and battle the vagaries to try and emerge with the best results. But nature is a true humbler and we accept whatever is provided. We share with you our modus and sheer thrill of seed production.

Own Farms

Leased-in Farms

Our own farms are a prime example of how seed production ought to be done. Agro-climatic suitability and socioeconomic feasibility drives the cultivation. Our package of practices are essentially derived from on hand and contrived experiences coupled with state of art technology. Seasoned manpower monitor and record the ongoing cultivation. Quality, Quantity and On-time delivery is the norm.

Leased in farms are used where demand exceeds the ceilings at our own farms. The sites are chosen meticulously to keep the compromises on seed production protocols to a minimum. Best of our personnel indulge in this format of production for which manpower is continuously trained in house. Villages with large land holdings benefit from this approach of ours.

Contract Production

Bulk requirements as in the case of field crops and certain vegetables are usually contracted out. The zones for seed production of such crops are identified and farmers are directly contracted or taken in under the ambit of an organizer. A series of meetings prior to the season gives professional guidance to the participating farmers and gets them tuned to the rigorous demands of seed production. From seeding to harvest the farmer fields are thoroughly monitored and progress recorded. A fully professional and knowledgeable team is responsible for the produce in terms of quality and quantity. They are ably supported by technologically sound personnel from departments like QA and breeding.

Operations Team

Resolving Challenges in Seed Production

The operations team is constantly on it toes in monitoring and recording events during the season. The discrepancy noted like a disease or deficiency is addressed locally and in case of severity or of first instances brought to notice of higher ups. The team is well connected by modern communication equipment and exploit all the information technological developments of recent times. The team also constantly update their know-how related to crop physiology, soil and weather conditions, implements and supplements and biotechnology by subscribing to and attending conferences and training by various indigenous and international agencies.

“The final produce is allotted a Lot no and after check for moisture and other physical parameters is bagged, labelled & dispatched to the processing plant”
